while I said don't use this on your first playthrough I tried it when I bought the game and I made it a good chunk of the way through the Island with it. while it is not recommended for first time players the Mine Thrower can destroy groups of enemies if timed correctly, aim for the one in front and switch to your current handgun to slow them down (try aiming for the face or legs if they have a mask.) sometimes this wont even be necessary with the Mine Throwers upgrades.Īnother note: DO NOT USE THE SCOPE! it is a waste of money and time. While the guide says the Mine Thrower is the worst weapon in the game, this is far from true. I would not waste my ammo with a TMP trying to headshot from long range, which the pistols seem to be better for when a rifle is overkill or if you aren't carrying a rifle. I agree, the TMP is much more useful than a pistol, especially when multiple enemies are close by. And that's the most damaging handgun! All other handguns don't come even close, with the normal handgun, sadly, doing LESS THAN HALF the damage per second a TMP does. So a Blacktail does in average less damage per second than a TMP. So it does an average of 11.46 damage per second.
